Cleveland Social Running Group – Kilometres For Kilos Club
Welcome to the Cleveland Social Running Group we like to call, 'The Kilometres For Kilos Club'. Now first of all let me get a few things straight- You don't have to be from Cleveland and you don't have to be a runner to join in the fun! Actually, it's better if you're not a runner. We are a group of normal people just like you that has come together because we want to achieve something we hadn't been able to before. Whether it was to be able to walk or run for half an hour without stopping, complete a half marathon or just get fit.
That's why I started the Cleveland Social Running Club.
If you have always wanted to be able to run, or you wish you could walk for as long as you want without being puffed, or if you have you thought about completing a 10km fun-run but haven't had the confidence, then The Kilometres For Kilos Running Group is for you.

What is the Cleveland Social Running Group?
My name is Kieran Sernig and I head the Kilometres For Kilos Club. I'm a mobile Personal Trainer in the Redlands and I started a group to train for some fun runs coming up such as the Bridge to Brisbane. We all had such a blast that everyone was wanting to know when the next running group would be starting. As interest grew with some people wishing to complete fun runs, others wanting to be able to graduate from just walking and some just wanting to get fit and lose some weight, Kilometres For Kilos began.
Do I have To Be Able To Run?
No! That's the great thing about our Cleveland Running Group, if you are a professional and serious runner, you probably don't belong in this group. We are all about one thing first and foremost-
FUN!
We cater for if you-
- Have never run, or have never been able to run
- Would like to start running gradually
- Would like to improve your running for fun run events
- Would like to walk with others in a social environment
- Just want to have fun and get some exercise!

What Do We Do At Cleveland Running Group?
Put simply… run! We do a variety of different types of runs to get the most out of your training and also to keep it interesting. You'll do some long timed runs/walks where we try to beat our last time or distance and other type of running/walking. You also run/walk at your own pace. I'll be there to push you along a little, but there is no pressure to beat any records!
I will also keep you up to date with your progress so you have goals to aim for should you want to improve.

Where?
We will usually leave from the foreshore of Raby Bay at the children's park on Masthead Drive, Cleveland
When
The Kilometres For Kilos Running Group is on every Saturday morning at 6am. It runs for between 45 minutes to an hour. But if you need to leave early we can arrange to shorten your run or walk to get you out on time.
Cost
The whole session only costs $5 and there are no joining fees. You can come along and just pay for one at a time or pay for sessions in groups of 4.

“After being challenged by my sisters to enter the Gold Coast Marathon I began to realise that if wanted to make it to the end I needed to train a little harder. I seemed to get stuck and hit the wall and just couldn't get past the 5km mark. The event we were running in was a 10km run and with my lack of motivation and time quickly running out, I decided to give Kieran a call.
